I had a tapered TPO still under warranty that needed some attention. I was happy with their prompt attention from start to finish. The issue was rectified and the professional repair was completed. This was why I chose The Roofing Company of Tampa Bay to do my initial install. They honored their warranty and they have longevity to do so! A special shoutout to Evan, the repair evaluation specialist and Jose Cruz, the technician who made the repair. Both these individuals were professional, honest, and courteous.

I want to tell you about the splendid work that Matt and Tampa Bay roofing did for me on a persistent leak. He recently completed a repair on my home in Redington Shores, Florida. There is an old saying that the secret to success is to be pleasant, punctual and prepared. Matt and his tech certainly offer proof in support of this statement. Because I needed this done in the midst of other repairs and had to be coordinated with the rest of the project, it meant more than I could have imagined to work with someone in the area immediately gave me the impression of being professional and trustworthy. When I first called Matt, he made an appointment to meet with me that same day – and he kept his appointment. If you have an opportunity to meet him, the first thing you will notice, is that he is each intelligent and hard-working, and that he is that is imbued with a spirit of service and quality. He demonstrated by the warmth with which he greeted and interacted with me. To say that he was helpful to me throughout the time we worked together would be a vast understatement. Matt is not only conscientious in business, but genuinely extended concern about my situation. The work on my home was completed in a timely fashion and showed attention to detail. The roof repair was on a flat torch down roof, where some of the decking had been destroyed during the leak from heavy rains. Matt’s technician, matched the existing roof elements with precision. I have no difficulty recommending Tampa Bay Roofing to anyone who is seeking to maintain, or improve, their property. Tampa Bay Roofing is a rare blend of talent, skill and ethical behavior, and I am blessed to have made acquaintance with the Matt and his employees.

I had a leaking roof. I arranged estimates from four different companies. The roofing company of Tampa Bay blew away the competition in price, honest assessment, and warranty for their work. Dallas was very honest, knowledgeable, thorough and professional in his assessment and estimate, and in later follow up. He even did a temporary patch job to get me through until the full repair could be scheduled. Armando and his partner completed the repairs to my complete satisfaction. Even the young lady from the office whom I spoke to on the phone was outstanding. Get estimates from all the companies you want, but go with this company you will be pleased that you did.

Our roof was severely damaged after being struck by lightning during a recent storm. After receiving several different estimates we contracted with The Roofing Company to do the repair. One of the reasons for doing so was their outstanding reviews. Another reason was because they don't use sub-contractors, only full time employees of the company. Every interaction I had with anyone from the company, from Jennifer Melo in the office, Matt on the telephone, and professional roofers RJ and Jose left me feeling confident we chose correctly. RJ and Jose did an outstanding job with the repair and I highly recommend The Roofing Company over any other in the Tampa Bay area.

The owner, Matt, just stopped by to look at a minor leak on my back porch. I could tell already that these guys were different , because they answered their phone, they returned calls, they provided a narrow window for an appointment, they sent reminders the day before and Matt even called when he was running a few minutes behind. Let's be honest - these are not things that most roofers in Tampa Bay do. When Matt showed up he quickly looked at my leak and gave me some advice on how to fix it myself. When I offered him something for his time, he refused. He also walked around the house and offered some roofing advice on a couple of other issue I have. Wow! What a nice guy. When it comes time for my roof to be replaced, I know who I'm going to call.

As a long time resident of Pasco county I’ve worked with a ton of different roofing companies UP UNTIL I found The Roofing Company! Since I met Chris 4 years ago I’ve had multiple roofs done by him and his crews throughout the Tampa Bay Area on rental houses and my own personal residence. Never a bad experience and they are always up front and honest about what to expect. Nothing beats an honest contractor! I recommend them to anyone I know!

Tampa Roof Repair Backed by Local Experience

Roof repair in Tampa is rarely the same job twice, and that is exactly why local experience matters on a repair. We have worked on roofs across the full range of Tampa homes, from the older streets of South Tampa, Hyde Park, and Seminole Heights to the newer construction out toward New Tampa, and on the waterfront homes that face the bay. Each one is built differently and wears differently, so a repair that lasts starts with knowing what you are actually looking at. We handle roof repair for homeowners across Hillsborough County, and we know how homes here are put together and what this climate does to them over time.

The Right Repair for Your Tampa Roof

Homes in Tampa’s older core have usually been re-roofed and patched more than once, sometimes with different materials layered in along the way. A good repair reads that history instead of ignoring it: matching what is already up there, checking the underlayment and decking underneath, and making sure the fix solves the problem instead of hiding it. When we find a roof that has simply reached the end of its life, we say so plainly and walk you through a Tampa roof replacement rather than selling you another short-term patch.

On the newer side of the city, a lot of roofs are still young enough that a small, correct repair now is the difference between a minor bill and a major one later. A lifted shingle edge, a gap in the flashing, or a worn pipe boot is cheap to handle early and costly to ignore. Done the right way, a timely repair also keeps a newer roof’s manufacturer warranty intact, which the wrong patch can quietly void. Catching these things early is the whole point of a real repair, and it is where having a local team you can reach quickly pays off.

Tampa Roof Repair FAQs

Here are the questions we hear most.

It comes down to how much of the roof is failing and how old it is. Tampa's housing runs the full range, from 1920s homes in Seminole Heights and Hyde Park to newer homes out in New Tampa, so there is no single answer. If the problem is contained, a few lifted shingles, one persistent leak, a cracked tile, loose flashing, or a small damaged section, a repair is almost always the right move. When we get up there and find widespread wear, soft decking, or leaks returning in several spots, we will tell you plainly that a full replacement is the better investment and show you the photos behind that call. The Roofing Company of Tampa Bay would rather keep you as a customer for the next roof than sell you one before you need it.
Most roof repairs in Tampa fall between $300 and $2,500. Where your repair lands depends on several factors: how large the damaged area is, what type of roof you have, the pitch, the access, and what we find underneath once the damaged section is opened. Some repairs are simple flashing or vent fixes. Others involve tile, metal, flat roofing, or hidden decking damage that takes more time to correct. You get a written estimate before we touch anything, so the price you approve is the price you pay. The inspection and estimate are free.
Fast. In most cases we can get you a next-day estimate, and you can reach us anytime, day or night, to get on the schedule. When you have an active leak, quick response matters, so we prioritize getting eyes on your roof before more water gets in. Call us or request your estimate online, and there is no cost and no obligation either way.
All of it. We repair roofs across Hillsborough County, from South Tampa, Hyde Park, and Davis Islands through Seminole Heights, Tampa Heights, and Ybor City, out to New Tampa, Carrollwood, Westchase, and Town 'n' Country. One thing worth knowing: a Tampa mailing address does not always mean you are inside the city. Plenty of homes in places like Carrollwood and Westchase sit in unincorporated Hillsborough County, which matters for permitting. We work in both, so wherever your home actually falls, we have you covered.
For anything beyond a minor patch, yes, and we pull it for you. If your home is inside Tampa city limits, the permit and inspections go through the City of Tampa Construction Services Division, not Hillsborough County. Homes with a Tampa address that actually sit in unincorporated Hillsborough permit through the county instead, which is why we confirm your exact jurisdiction before we start. We handle the permit and every required inspection, so you are not managing any of it.
It can, and this is where local experience matters. Roofing work in Tampa's historic districts, including Hyde Park, Seminole Heights, Ybor City, and the downtown district, may need design approval before the permit can be issued if the repair changes the visible look of the roof. A straightforward like-for-like repair is usually simpler, but anything that changes the appearance can trigger additional review. We account for that up front and make sure your repair keeps your home compliant with both the building code and the historic guidelines.
Tampa roofs take a beating from intense sun, humidity, and the near-daily thunderstorms that roll through all summer. We see lifted shingles, cracked tiles, loose metal panels, worn pipe boots, damaged vents, failing flashing, ponding water on flat sections, and leaks around chimneys, skylights, walls, and roof transitions. Because Tampa sits in hurricane territory, a single strong storm can turn a small weak point into an active leak fast. The repair starts with finding the exact failure point, not guessing from the ground.
As fast as we can reach you. After a hurricane or a hard summer storm, the Tampa Bay area sees a wave of roof damage at once, and active leaks go to the top of our list because every hour water sits inside means more damage to your ceilings, insulation, and framing. If water is coming in, say so when you call and we will prioritize getting someone out quickly. For damage that is not actively leaking, we still aim to assess it as soon as possible during peak storm season. We can tarp an exposed area to hold things until the full repair is scheduled.
Yes. You can reach us 24/7 to report a leak and get the repair process started, so you are never stuck waiting until morning with water coming in. Call anytime, tell us what is happening, and we will get you on the schedule for a next-day estimate. Our crews do the actual repair work during business hours, but booking your repair and getting guidance does not have to wait for daylight.
Often yes, when the damage comes from a covered event like wind or a fallen tree rather than age and wear. Here is the honest part: we do not file or handle the claim for you, but we guide you through it. We thoroughly document the storm damage with photos and a written assessment you can give your adjuster, and we walk you through what we are seeing so you can have an informed conversation with your insurer. Florida has strict deadlines for reporting storm claims, so do not wait. If the damage falls under your deductible, a direct repair is usually the faster and simpler route.
Yes. Flat and low slope roofs are common on Tampa homes, especially over Florida rooms, carports, porches, additions, and some mid-century or modern homes. They fail differently than pitched roofs, so the repair has to match the system. Ponding water, blistering, separated seams, coating failure, and edge flashing issues are the problems we look for first. When the underlying deck is still sound, we repair the section rather than pushing a full replacement. If the membrane has failed across the whole area, we will tell you, but many flat roof issues can still be handled with a targeted repair.
Yes. We offer flexible financing for repairs that turn into a larger bill, with options that spread the cost into manageable monthly payments instead of one lump sum. As for timing, most repairs are finished in a single day, and many take only a few hours. Tile work, metal repairs, flat roof sections, or hidden decking damage can stretch into a second day, and we always give you a clear timeline before we start so nothing catches you off guard.
