Absolutely stellar customer service! Prompt, courteous, and called after the job to make sure I was satisfied for just replacing a few shingles. This is the second time I've used them. First time was for maintenance, also did a great job didn't try to up sell me on anything or tell me that the whole roof needed replacing like some other roofing companies did. Very honest and professional.

I've used two roofing companies to have work done this year. The Roofing Company gets an A+++. The other company got an F. Here's why TRC gets 5 stars: They were friendly, fast quote, didn't try to jam me on prices, gave me a really fair price right out the gate and showed up on time and did quality work. It was a small job and they squeezed me into their schedule on short notice too. I will use them for my upcoming work too. Thanks.

Today, John Newkirk inspected my roof, and much to my surprise, he told me I do not need a new one at this time. However, if and when I need one, John will be the one I call. It's nice to know that there is an honest roofer out there.

Jeff is so nice and professional. Absolutely exceptional service. The business itself as a whole is professional, timely, and dependable. Really just appreciate everyone we worked with but most especially, Jeff. Just had our roof done and after these two hurricanes I had him come to inspect it just in case anything happened. It was 10/10 but he pointed out we had some cracks in our stucco around our chimney and was so nice to caulk it for us, before we redo the stucco, in case it rains between now and then. Thank you Jeff! We appreciate you so much!

Seffner Roof Repair That Matches an Older Roof

Welcome to Seffner Florida sign with colorful flowers, palm trees, roadside landscaping, and blue sky in Seffner, FL

A lot of Seffner’s homes, especially along the older back roads, are wearing roofs that have seen plenty of sun and plenty of seasons. Repairing one of those is not just a matter of swapping in new material. The shingles around the damage have faded, lost granules, and grown brittle, so a repair has to tie into that aged surface cleanly instead of sitting on top of it as an obvious, weaker patch. That is the part we pay attention to on the roof repairs we complete across Hillsborough County neighborhoods, matching the work to the roof that is already there.

Matching the Repair to the Roof You Have

When new shingles go in next to old ones, two things have to line up: the look and the seal. We source the closest match we can to what is on your roof so the repair does not stand out, but the bigger job is making sure the new section laps and seals into the old one so water runs across the seam instead of finding it. On an older Seffner roof, the surrounding shingles are stiffer and more fragile than they once were, so we work carefully around them to avoid cracking good material while we lift and reseal what needs to come up.

There is a point where matching into an old roof stops making sense, of course. If the surrounding shingles are so worn that they crumble at the edges of every repair, or the same roof keeps needing patches in new spots, that is usually the roof telling you it is closer to a Seffner roof replacement than another repair. We will tell you honestly which side of that line you are on, and if a repair still makes sense, that is what we will do.

Seffner roof Repair FAQs

Here are the questions we hear most.

More than most people realize. Out here in east Hillsborough, the afternoon storms roll through almost daily in the wet season, and they hit harder than the coastal sea-breeze showers. Straight-line gusts crease and lift shingle edges, driving rain finds every worn flashing point and tired sealant bead, and the occasional hail core bruises shingles and strips granules. Lightning is constant in this part of the state, and while direct strikes on homes are rare, strikes on Seffner's towering oaks drop heavy limbs onto roofs all the time. After a rough storm it is worth a quick look, or letting us take one, because storm damage usually starts small and is cheap to fix at that stage.
It comes down to how contained the problem is. A leak in one spot, a few creased or missing shingles, or damage in one area after a storm is almost always a repair, and there is no reason to touch the rest of a sound roof. We only steer you toward a roof replacement when the damage shows up in several places, the decking underneath has gone soft, or the roof is simply worn out across the whole surface. We get up there, inspect it, and show you photos of what we find, so the recommendation is based on the actual condition. At The Roofing Company of Tampa Bay, we would rather make a repair last than sell you a roof you do not need yet.
Yes. Seffner is unincorporated, so there is no city hall here, and your roof permit is issued by Hillsborough County Development Services. Any roof work beyond a minor patch needs a permit, applications run through the county's online portal, and there are inspections to confirm the work meets the Florida Building Code. We pull the permit, submit the product approvals, and schedule the inspections for you, so the paperwork is handled and the job is documented properly, which protects you at resale and with your insurer.
It does, and it is a bigger factor in Seffner than people expect. Sitting this far inland, without the coastal breeze, attics here bake in summer, and a poorly ventilated attic cooks your shingles from underneath. That heat ages them early, curling and cracking shingles that should have had years left, and trapped moisture in the attic can rot decking from below. When we repair a roof, we look at the ventilation too, the soffit intakes, ridge or off-ridge vents, and the airflow path between them, and we can add or improve ventilation, including solar attic fans, where it is falling short. Better airflow extends the life of the roof and takes real strain off your air conditioning.
Most roof repairs in Seffner fall between $300 and $2,500. Where yours lands depends on what drives the price: the size of the damaged area, your roof type, the pitch, and what we find once we open up the problem spot. On the older homes along Seffner's back roads, worn decking sometimes turns up under the shingles and needs attention. You get a written estimate before any work begins, so the number you approve is the number you pay, and the inspection that gets you there is free.
Usually yes, and here is why it matters more in Florida than almost anywhere. The roof is the first thing a buyer's inspector flags, and on an older home the buyer's insurance company will often require a roof evaluation before writing a policy. If the roof has active leaks or is near the end of its life, buyers can struggle to get coverage at all, and that stalls or kills closings. A targeted repair that fixes the real issues is often a fraction of what you would give up in a price concession, and it lets the sale move cleanly. We will give you a straight read on what an inspector is going to flag, and if the roof is genuinely at the end, we will tell you that too so you can decide whether to replace it or price it in.
A handful come up over and over. The intense inland storms do the most damage, with wind-creased shingles and rain finding worn flashing. The sun and the hot attics bake shingles brittle ahead of schedule. The big live oaks that make Seffner beautiful drop limbs and debris that collect in valleys and gutters and grow moss on shaded slopes, and on the older homes plain age is often the root issue. The newer subdivision homes show storm wear and install shortcuts more than age. One thing in your favor: this far inland, salt corrosion is a non-issue, so a well-kept roof here gets full value out of its lifespan.
Often it will, when the damage comes from a covered event like wind or hail rather than age and ordinary wear. To be straight with you, we do not file or handle the claim for you, but we guide you through it. We document the storm damage thoroughly with photos and a written assessment you can hand your adjuster, and we walk you through what we are seeing so you can have an informed conversation with your insurer. Florida sets tight deadlines for reporting storm claims, so do not wait on it, and if you ever feel stuck with your insurer, the state's insurance consumer services is a free resource that can step in. If the damage comes in under your deductible, a direct repair is usually the simpler route.
We do. If something we fixed is not holding the way it should, we come back and make it right. The reason our repairs hold in the first place is that we track a leak to its actual source instead of patching the symptom, then seal and fasten the surrounding area so it stands up to the next storm, not just the next dry week. When we hand a job off as finished, it is because we are confident in it, and you get the specifics of what is covered in writing with your estimate. We would rather do it correctly once than have you calling us about the same spot twice.
Yes. Most repairs are small enough to settle when the work is finished, but if a job turns out larger than expected, we offer monthly payment plans that spread the cost out instead of one lump sum. It is a quick application and you can see what you qualify for before committing to anything. Just bring it up when you book your free estimate and we will go over the options that fit your budget.
