Palm Harbor Roof Replacement Done With Care, Start to Finish.

A roof replacement comes down to the details most people never see, and that’s exactly where roofs tend to fail. We take the time to get the flashing, valleys, and penetrations sealed right, not just the open field of the roof, because that’s what actually keeps water out for years. You get a crew that works methodically, protects your property while we’re on site, and doesn’t call the job finished until it’s right.

The congregation here at Palm Harbor desperately was in need of three (3) roofs. We contacted several roofing companies and only two replied with substance and knowledge, but one exceeded the others, and it was "The Roofing Company." I met Dave and we talked about all the aspects of work to be done. We met a few times and then the congregation met to discuss the options provided by Dave from the company. He answered all our questions and even had a Sunday night phone call to answer more (now that's dedication and customer service). Dave went above and beyond to get us the right roof for our needs, he also was on point with the estimated costs as well as the time frame for work to be done. We were expecting a month out for work to be completed but there was an opening and Dakota the field supervisor contacted me and was ready to begin work within a week. Permits were pulled and the work began. I (minister) asked questions and stated things that were concerns to me, and Dakota answered and if needed took care of those concerns of mine. Dakota even stated that if I wanted the crew to wear pink shirts (LoL), he would go buy them, that's how much he wanted to please us the customer. I grew up in the construction field, and I know all the aspects of construction. The crew that Dakota sent out to do these roofs, did an excellent job! I was watching and they really preformed like a well-oiled machine. All three buildings needed wood repair and of course me watching (off and on), I knew this. I saw the problems and the crew ONLY replaced what was needed to be replaced. I told Dakota some of my past credentials and said I do not want any frivolous repairs and that we as a congregation would not pay for that type of work (not saying the company would do that, but growing up in Florida and many hurricanes and dealing with roofing companies, well you know, some bad apples spoil the rest). Anyway, he assured me this would not happen and as I said earlier, I was watching (but not directing/going through Dakota etc) and Dakota held true to his word. Not one piece of wood was replaced that didn't need it! On one building the old plywood was wavy and that was because truss blocks were not used where the ends of the plywood meet, thus causing no way to nail said plywood and the ends were just floating. I witnessed his crew remove the bad plywood and then access the attic to install wood blocking from truss to truss to support the new plywood. Now that is top notch work and going beyond to make the job right, and what some roofing companies in the past have neglected, hence, the blocks were needed. All three roofs are now up to code and we can rest easy. All three roofs were completed in three days and that is a lot of roofing material and a lot of work for two out buildings (1500sqft) and a big church building. The crew also came back on Saturday and cleanup up every bit of trash and just did a excellent job! Dakota came by to do a final once over and walk the roof, everything was fine. We then proceeded to write the checks, but before that, we requested a release of lien for the material and work done. Dakota showed me the release of liens and we wrote the check, then he sent the releases to us. It was a pleasure working with Matt, Dave, and Dakota on this job and the professionalism by all. THEY DID IT RIGHT! If I ever needed another roofing job, guess who I'm going to use, yep, "The Roofing Company," (Matt, Dave, and Dakota). If you want to take a look at their work, then you can swing by the building here in Pam Harbor. Thank you again for a great professional job, I couldn't have done it better, nor directed a crew better. We really appreciate the peace of mind and the extended warranties to keep that peace of mind for years to come.

I called 4 companies for a new roof estimate. The roofing company was the first to show up. The only one that actual made the appointment on time. Before they left they handed me a written estimate. I signed the contract gave them the deposit and a week later they showed up with a crew. Stripped the roof and had it back on in one day by 2pm. Cleaned up everything and the next day the owner stopped by to make sure everything went smoothly. If you need a new roof ASAP. This is the crew. I flip houses, and I will be working with them again.

The Roofing Company was prompt, professional and courteous. They took the time to explain the scope of work, answered any questions my wife and I had, kept us informed through the entire process. There were no hidden fees. They did an excellent job on our metal roof, soffit and fascia. If we had any questions, they promptly answered them and addressed all of our concerns throughout the process. I would highly recommend The Roofing Company and thank you again Matt, for all your hard work and the time you spent with us, we really appreciate it. Gary & Mary.

The Upgrade Inside a Palm Harbor Roof Replacement

Most homes in Palm Harbor have stood for decades, and their roofs were built to the codes of the time. That is worth knowing when you replace one: beyond stopping leaks, the biggest thing a new roof does is bring the whole system up to current Florida standards, with the wind ratings and modern materials an older roof was never built to meet. You are not just buying back what you had. You are getting a roof built for the storms we actually get now. We handle roof replacement work for homeowners all over Pinellas County, and we make sure the new one is a real step up, not a like-for-like swap.

Two Decisions Behind a Palm Harbor Roof

You have a few real choices, and each suits a different home and budget: shingle, the practical option most Palm Harbor homes wear; tile, which lasts longer and carries a certain look; and metal, which stands up to wind and sheds heat well. There is no single right answer, only the one that fits your home and how long you plan to stay, and we walk you through the trade-offs in plain language rather than steering you to the priciest line. And if we get up there and the roof has more life left than you feared, we will say so and point you to a Palm Harbor roof repair instead. A replacement should be a decision, not a default.

The second decision is ours: how it goes on, and that is where a roof is won or lost. The underlayment has to go down right, since it is the layer actually holding water out once wind drives rain under the surface; the flashing has to be sealed at every wall, valley, and penetration; and the attic has to move enough air to carry the Florida heat out so the roof is not fighting trapped heat all summer. Get those right and the roof reaches the age the warranty promises. We are one of a limited number of roofers approved at Owens Corning’s Platinum Preferred level, which lets us put a manufacturer warranty on your new roof that runs further on both length and coverage than a standard installation allows.

Palm Harbor Roof Replacement FAQs

Here are the questions we hear most.

Several things: the square footage and pitch of the roof, the material you choose, how many old layers have to come off, the condition of the deck once it is exposed, and whether any code upgrades are required. Palm Harbor homes run the full range of sizes and roof styles, so the only real number comes from a free in-person estimate. We do not price over the phone because what we find on the roof always matters.
Most single-family homes in Palm Harbor are done in one to three days. The timeline depends on the size of the roof, the material going on, and weather. Shingle moves faster than tile or metal. We give you a clear schedule before any work starts and keep you updated throughout, so there are no surprises about when your crew arrives or when the job is expected to be finished.
We install architectural shingle, tile, metal, and flat TPO for lower sections. Many older Palm Harbor homes were originally built with shingle and that is still the most common choice, but some homeowners upgrading an older roof take the opportunity to move to metal or tile. We walk through the practical trade-offs for your specific home rather than defaulting to whatever the original was. You can find a full overview of what we install on our residential roof replacements page.
Yes. Palm Harbor is an unincorporated community in Pinellas County, so the permit is pulled through Pinellas County Building Services rather than a city building department. We handle the permit for you, and all work is built to the current Florida Building Code. The job is not considered finished until it passes inspection.
Age and condition are the two factors. A roof with ten or more years of solid life left and localized damage is usually worth repairing. When the damage is widespread, the material is past its rated life, or the cost of repairs is approaching replacement territory, it makes more sense to replace. If we get up there and the roof still has life in it, we will say so and redirect you to a Palm Harbor roof repair instead of selling you a bigger job than you need.
Insurance typically covers replacement when the roof failed because of a qualifying storm or wind event, not normal aging. If that applies to your situation, we document the damage thoroughly with photos, provide a written estimate formatted for your insurer, and walk you through what to expect from the claim process. Visit our storm damage page for more, and file as soon as you can since policies have claim windows.
Yes. We offer several financing options through trusted partners, including a fixed rate plan at 9.99% for 120 months with equal monthly payments. Approvals happen in minutes online in most cases. Mention financing when you request your estimate and we will send you the details along with your quote.
Yes, and that is one of the biggest practical benefits of replacing an older roof. Florida's building code has been updated significantly since most older Palm Harbor homes were built, particularly around wind resistance requirements. A new installation has to meet today's standards, which means your new roof is built to a higher bar than what came off. It is not a like-for-like swap. You are getting a genuinely stronger roof than the original.
Yes. We are a licensed Florida roofing contractor and hold Owens Corning's Platinum Preferred Contractor designation, a credential Owens Corning grants to only a limited group of contractors. It allows us to register your new roof for manufacturer warranty coverage that goes beyond what a standard installation qualifies for, on both length and what is covered.
Yes. We replace roofs across Palm Harbor, from Innisbrook and Ozona to Crystal Beach, the neighborhoods around Lake Tarpon, and everything in between. We work with homes throughout Pinellas County, so if you are anywhere in the Palm Harbor area, we cover it.
